Goodnight!

Tonight Mike put the boys to bed.
At least he set the proper example.....

Mmmm, Mmm, Mmmmmm..... aren't these boys cute!

Safety First!

Ike is all about safety.

Apparently, you can never be too careful.

Especially while swimming in a kiddy pool.

You should ALWAYS protect your head.......

And what's up with the fully clothed children. Well I guess if the heat index has been 110 degrees, and has been for the last few days, a child can't resist a little water. Ike had to stop mid-way around the block just to cool off.
I'm going to go have another Popsicle.....

A Special Day

Mom and her men!

Our Family, June 7th 2009
Jake's Blessing Day.

Dad and his boy!

So Jake's name has been a bit of a challenge for me. I've worried and stressed over his name for quite some time, so it wasn't any shock that we were still trying to finalize his middle name during the opening song, the Sunday we blessed him. Crazy I know, and perhaps most of it's due to whacked out hormones and an uncertain future, but nonetheless, Jake's blessing day was so tender and very sweet. Mike blessed him to be a calming influence and that is so true. He has proved to be one calm and mellow fellow. Mike gave Jake such a sweet blessing, and we are so grateful to have this little guy in our family. Speaking of family, we wish family could have been there, but we had some wonderful non-blood family members there to help.

This Week I Learned....

This Week I Learned.....

Monday: That I do enjoy having people over for dinner! It's been a while since we've entertained, and it is nice. However, whether it's my best friend or the Prophet I think I will stress out a little when dinner company comes. I don't want to, but I do.

Tuesday: That there really are very good people out there. Mike chose to eat at Texas Road House for his B-Day dinner this year. (Happy B-Day Babe!) How yummy, but it does involve a trip to Topeka. After a very nice meal, we walked out to a dead car. Long story short, a nice couple who were waiting to eat asked if we needed some help. They couldn't have anticipated what they were in for. They ended up spending the next hour and a half, helping us get our car started. This involved countless trys at jumping our dead battery, driving Mike to Walmart for a new car battery, calling friends to come with appropriate tools to put in said battery, feeding my kids hot rolls from their table, providing paper for drawing ferocious dinosaurs, and letting us cool off at their table as they played tic -tac -toe with my kids. So to these strangers who have now become hero's and amazing examples Thank You! Rich and Tawna, you are now some of our favorite people!

Wednesday: To Never, Ever forget to put the treadmill back up after using it! My boys decided to have a little unsupervised fun and now Ike has a nice treadmill burn on his chin and neck. He's tough and one lucky guy, it could have been so much worse, but I'm still waiting for SRS to come knock on my door.

Thursday: That Jake hates his car seat.

Friday: That OSU is not nearly as cool as KSU! And that Manhattan is the Garden of Eden compared to other locations. Jake really, really hates his car seat!

Saturday: To not wait till the last minute to pick up that perfect Father's day present, because they might all be gone. But more importantly I learned that watching kids run and catch firefly's is one of life's simple pleasures.

Sunday:.... I'm waiting to see what adventures await!

Hope you had a good week and learned some things too!

High (or wide) Fashion

Jake sporting a handsome onsie that some fabulous friends designed for him at our baby shower. This particular onsie grows with Jake (side to side that is). The fuller he is, the wider the tie! Personally, I believe the wide tie was always a winning fashion statement. We can only hope the wide tie will make a comeback and if it does we are ready. Ladies, we love the onsies, the quilt, and loved the shower. Thank You Thank You!

Wet and Wild

We are the PROUD owners of a slip-in-slide. Wild I know. This summer activity has proven to be a very fun neighborhood event. Kids like it, but Mike loves it. Take a look. You can come over and play. We'll convince Mike to take turns.

For the Big Jake

Here is a shout out to little (but bigger) Jakey. My brother Jake called tonight. I love it when he calls! He is interning this summer in Washington D.C. He and Brianna even stopped to see us on their way there. We felt so loved! Apparently though, I haven't posted anything in a long time, so Jake, thanks for the subtle hint and these are for you. XOXOXOXO!

Two cute Jakes.
(Jake becomes a dad in September. WOW! Here he is practicing holding a baby;)
On their way East. We hated to say goodbye!

How irreverent!

Climbing trees with Uncle Jake. My boys were so excited for him to show them the tricks of the trade.

We went to a K-State vs BYU baseball game while they were in town. It's always fun to watch the Y get stomped on. Go Wildcats!!!

Playing in the park at Wamego!
We love you guys and hope you come again. Have fun doing those Oh so important things you do there in D.C. Luvs!
