My boys LOVE talking to their grandparents on the phone. They think they have the greatest grandparents in the world and I would have to agree. The other day we were talking to Mutsi (Mike's mom)on the phone. Will didn't get a chance to talk to her and felt a little left out. Later that afternoon over lunch I got to be part of this little conversation.
Will: "So Ike did Mutsi call you sweetheart?"
Ike: (with a rather sheepish grin on his face) "Yep"
Will: "She always calls us sweetheart."
Ike: "I know"
Will: "Why does she call us sweetheart Mom?"
Me: "Well, I think she loves you so much and that's a special name for people you love."
Will: "Hmm"
Me: "Will, why do you think she calls you sweetheart?"
Will: "She calls us sweetheart Mom, because we are as sweet as a cherry to her."
Apparently that makes the most sense.

Sounds good to me! What a cute story! My kids quite enjoy talking to Mutsi too! She does have a way of making them feel very special!!
