So, I'm not that proud of the previous post. I've pondered deleting it, but then that's how I felt at the time. Writing things down tend to make me feel a bit better. Honestly some days are full of barf. However, something happened later this afternoon that changed my outlook on life. I got my baby to take a nap, and then I had a shower and viola' I felt like a new person; the sun was shining brighter and the grass looked greener. It's amazing how a shower can make me feel human again.
Then, I had a moment to go outside and play soccer with my big boys, and while I was scoring goals like crazy on them:) I pondered on what a blessing it is to be a mother. I do love this all consuming role in my life, even on barfy days. I once again realized how lucky I am to have 3 healthy, energetic boys who have a never ending Zest for life and who say the funniest things, that crack me up and bring sunshine into my soul.
Here are a few recent:
I asked Ike if he wanted to do something yesterday after breakfast and his response,"No, Mom, I want to do something that just came up in my mind." OK then.
Last Family Home Evening I told the boys we were going to play a game.
Will said, "Oh yea, is it kind of like Mario's Best Sandwich?"
"What?"
I had no idea what he was talking about, he seemed so hopeful though. Sadly for our children, we don't own or play any of these games. We are glad that he is learning so much at school though.
Later this afternoon, my boys and I were listening to Brian Regan. (He is by chance the funniest human alive and you should check him out.)
Any way, Will told me, "Mom, I love watching you laugh."
Feeling the warm fuzzies I said "Oh Will, really?"
He said, "Yes, I love it when you laugh and your nostrils go up like this on the sides." He then proceeded to flare his nostrils and simultaneously pull them up as high as he could with his fingers.
Somethings you just would rather not know about yourself.
